The Hemmingsens & Belfast Bay Inn

The Belfast Bay Inn is the creation of Ed and Judy Hemmingsen, former owners of the Bluenose Inn, a 97-room AAA-rated Four Diamond hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Inn's Rose Garden Restaurant was one of only 41 Five Diamond award recipients in North America. The diamonds reflect Ed and Judy's love of the innkeeping business.

In 2000, they sold the Bluenose to semi-retire in Belfast, but the innkeeping business called to them again. In 2005, they found the ideal location: an historic mid-1800s Main St. building. They transformed it into eight luxuriously appointed two-person guest suites that offer vacation travelers further diversity in exceptional accommodations. Their attention to detail is evident in every room, from the hardwood and stone floors to crown moldings, granite countertops, the antiques, the classic oil paintings, the carefully chosen furniture and fine upholstery.
All suites are fully furnished with lavish materials, in a traditional and indigenous style, and the walls are decorated with carefully chosen sophisticated artwork. Belfast Bay Inn is next door to very healthy food, breathtaking oceanfront scenery, and every convenience of a quaint seaport city within a short walk. Make a reservation. Belfast Bay Inn welcomes you to Belfast, Maine.
